This place is like a place from days gone bye. It's like stepping back in time small bright colors only about 8 tables. Great customer service and food was outstanding as was the dessert's which are fresh baked with a large selection. Lunch special's had great selection and good prices as well as the soups.

My Favorite local place to eat! Great sense of community and wonderful food. The atmosphere and events there are fun and it's as comfortable as home!

What a great spot! My group stopped in for breakfast and we were very satisfied with the breakfast wrap, Tiger Bowl, and Bagel and Lox. The bagel and lox was loaded with delicious salmon - I would definitely recommend it! The chai tea and coffee were also top notch. The atmosphere, service, and hospitality are fantastic. An all around great breakfast spot! I would definitely come back at other times of the day to see how the experience shifts through the afternoon and evening.

I needed a breakfast order for a group and Blue Chair answered my email quickly to confirm they could provide the service. They were great over the phone, professional, and had many options. Great experience! Will visit them again!

We arrived in Sewanee after a long day of traveling with a toddler from LA. It was 10pm and we were hungry and tired. The food was great and the hospitality was second to none. We were immediately welcomed by the owner himself and felt right at home. The beer selection is wonderful, lots of local craft beers to choose from. The burgers were delicious and cooked perfectly. Our daughter even received a giant cookie. Cannot say enough good things about the place or the people.

The food is great! Best breakfast near sewanee. Best burgers in sewanee. Best beer on tap. It would be great to have a few more servers on busy nights but I don't want quality of food or prices to change. Well worth a few extra mins wait time.

Lovin' the Blue Chair! Popped in for breakfast last Saturday. The homemade Granola was fabulous (I got half Cranberry Coconut, half Honey and Oat) and the espresso was honestly the best I think I've had. Super fresh and with the slightest little delightful hint of spice. Can't wait to go back.

I went there with my niece. She told me it was the best wings she had ever had and my burger was good too! Great staff! Will return!

Great people. Great coffee. The black bean burger is excellent, and sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had.

The food was fresh and delicious. The smoothies are great, so is the service and atmosphere.

The best food and great service. We sat outside since we had been hiking and had our puppy with us. They brought water to our pup and gave him a few organic treats. We all loved this place, especially Opie!

My daughter and I went here for lunch. It was crowded (not a problem). Food was good and the desserts were delicious. Was in a cute and quaint setting.

Located in the quaint University village of Sewanee with good food and friendly service. They serve breakfast and offer take out at 7am with a lunch service menu too but they also have a cozy Tavern connected to them that serves food after 11am.

The Tavern has, hands-down, some of THE BEST chicken fingers I've ever had. I would highly recommend visiting if you're looking for a great meal with a wide selection of beers. 9/10

I never miss having at least one meal at The Blue Chair. Everything I have ever had there has been delicious. Great breakfasts, incredible baked goods, terrific sandwiches and of course, Gary’s chili! It’s so quaint and comfortable, it’s like eating in Grandma’s kitchen, but the food is even better.

When going over the mountain in either direction, there are just a few independent restaurant options. On the way back home, Mom and I stopped at this cafe. I wanted a hearty breakfast before starting the full drive back. And I got it! I ordered the Tiger Bowl: a sweet cream biscuit with hash brown potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, and cheddar cheese cooked on top. It was SO tasty! I've never tasted a biscuit like that and the gravy added a slight spice kick to the dish. It was a good sized dish too. It definitely fueled me for the day. The decor of the cafe was kitschy comfy. The staff seemed genuinely happy. The granola and baked goods available for sale were home made. We will definitely be back.
The best S'more brownie I have ever had! Absolutely delicious soft chocolatey goodness with graham cracker, marshmallow layer upon a huge mountain square. I truly longed to return and get the prized recipe. The bakery is a non profit that helps women so you can indulge guilt free knowing you've helped someone get on their feet. Friendly staff with a great selection of homemade goods atop a cute hill in Sewanee.

Today we biked The Goat and stopped in for lunch at the Blue Chair Cafe. The owner made our day with treats for our kids, sharing local stories, recommending the delicious sour cream pound cake, and he even let me and my 4 year old sit inside his warm restaurant on a cold day while we waited for my husband to pick us up with the vehicle (4 year old was done with bikes). Such a lovely place with wonderful food!

Quite possibly the best catfish I have ever had along with the baked beans and greens…

A group of 8 of us ate here at least one time a day while on our vacation in Sewanee. This place is amazing!! We created some beautiful memories here all shared while enjoying delicious food and drinks. I felt like that had a little bit of everything to please even the most pickiest eater. There are two buildings. 1 is the tavern where they have more bar type food and serve hard seltzers/beer. We especially enjoyed our Jackalope IPAs. Over at the bar we had burgers to eat. Others in our group had the patty melt, fried chicken sandwich and salads. The other building is more of a diner setting where they have grab and go fresh baked goods. We had a red velvet muffin with dark chocolate pieces and a marshmallow bar. Everything is homemade! I wanted to take the whole bakery in my pocket! You can also order from a small menu that consists of basic breakfast food such as eggs, biscuits, hash browns, etc. I had the tiget bowl and others had the breakfast sandwich. Outside they have picnic chairs to sit at and also a fire pit. As tourists we were extrememly happy to find out that the beer we were so enjoying was BOGO! The owner stopped and talked with our group a few times. He is a friendly man and with this place being a small family owned business we were so happy to support them during this time. If you are in the area and looking for a wholesome place with awesome food swing by The Blue Chair!!
